Established in 2013, FC Malaga City Academy has quickly become widely regarded as one of the world's leading private residential football academies, competing on a regular basis with some of Europe's biggest clubs and enabling talented footballers to experience the life of a full-time professional footballer here in Spain.
As the success and level of our Academy players has grown, we're proud to now be represented by players from over 40 different countries and 6 continents, housing some of the top unsigned talents outside of the professional game.

We take a holistic approach to work at our Academy meaning that we look at the needs of each individual, not just their mental health needs but also their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. Our backroom staff work tirelessly to ensure that our Academy players have the 24 hour access and support that they deserve whilst they are here with us at our Academy.
The players wellbeing is, and always will be, the first item on our agenda and our staff are always on hand to listen to players concerns as part of our holistic approach. Our mission is to create a once in a lifetime experience of which the players will never forget - which is why this is a responsibility that we do not take lightly.

OUR HISTORY
2013
FC Malaga City Academy was founded in 2013 with the intention of providing players from all over the world with an opportunity to play and compete in a full-time professional European setting. What started off as sporadic tour groups filled with ambitious young individuals, has slowly evolved into what FC Malaga City is today. Europe´s leading private football academy.
Fast forward 10 years, FCMC now welcomes over 200 international players into our home, here on the south coast of Spain each season. We have our ver own senior team competing in the first national category and a thriving Academy structure that has seen more than 50 graduates ascend to the professional level. Each year we aim to push boundaries and reach new heights to provide more opportunities for our Academy players and families.

2015 - First Professional Showcase Games
As FC Malaga City continued to evolve in the early years, it was the ambition of Academy Founder, George Jermy, to provide a first-hand insight into some of the best youth players in Spain in Europe. This vision took it´s first steps in 2015 when our Academy program began to introduce showcase games against the likes of Malaga CF, Sevilla FC, and Granada. As new kids in the block, these early matches ups were very much above proving we deserved to be on the pitch with these historic clubs and has since led to consistently competing against some of the biggest footballing entities in world football including the likes of Barcelona, PSG, and Tottenham.
Our well-established professional links and network now extend throughout Spain and Europe, meaning that we are able to provide our players with an unrivaled platform and exposure. This privilege is not something that we can ever underestimate and for our players that are fortunate enough to experience a game of this magnitude, they are reminded that this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

With many of our staff having coached or played at a professional level prior to their time here at FCMC, we always had the confidence that we were providing each player with the tools that they needed to be successful. In 2016, this idea was provided with a sense of validation as our first Academy members started to make the step to the professional level. Ellis Hare-Reid, Elliot Simons, Max Mikkola were just some of the early trailblazers who have gone on to have hugely successful careers in Football and helped FC Malaga City gain the reputation of housing some of the top unsigned talents outside of the professional game. Fast forward to 10 years later and we are fortunate to see a number of our players go on to opportunities every year which still fills our team with the same excitement as it did at the time of our very first pro signing.
2016 - First Academy Graudate Signs Pro Deal
As our Academy infrastructure began to develop, we realized that there was a growing expectation within the football industry for players to be able to transition from youth to senior-level football at a young age and a lack of full-time professional environments that would allow players of 18 - 23 years of age to continue to develop. With this idea in mind, the FCMC Academy group acquired CD Almunecar City, a local football club steeped in history that was facing financial hardship and on the verge of bankruptcy.
When conversations first began never could we envisage the success that was to follow - but there was still a long road lay ahead. CDAC would now integrate into our growing Academy as the pinnacle of our club structure and provide with it a pathway for international Academy players looking to progress into the Spanish League System. Nearly a decade later we stand having achieved multiple promotions, success stories and memories with CD Almunecar City sewn into the fabric of our club history and journey forever.

The year 2020, will forever be known as the long-awaited introduction of our FC Malaga City Femenino program. The first of its kind in Europe, FCMC looks to provide aspiring female professional athletes with the opportunity to train/play in a full-time professional environment here on the south coast of Spain. Due to the immediate success of our program, our Femenino program is now home to some of the top unsigned female talents outside of the professional game who maintain the ambition, work ethic and values of our club philosophy.
In our short history, we are proud to see a large number of our former Female Alumni now competing at the professional level around the world and whilst the infrastructure around this program continues to develop, our focus surrounding player development and progression remains exactly the same. We continue to break barriers and strive to set the standards as one of Europe´s leading female football entities.

THE JOURNEY
TO TERCERA
When we talk of milestones nothing can be taken from the moment we could officially call ourselves a national professional football club with our FC Malaga City senior team now competing in TERCERA RFEF. A dream that started out just as simple pillow talk, would have looked like the impossible a decade ago and here we are pinching ourselves almost 10 years later with a platform and pathway that can not be rivaled in terms of player development.
Going into the 2021/22 season FC Malaga City found themselves in Division de Honor, the 6th tier of Spanish football, after a successful promotion campaign during the previous year. Many onlookers saw our young squad and lack of experience as an opportunity to write us off, with survival the main objective. Little did we know what was yet to unfold, as we defied odds and made history by securing promotion to Spain´s first national category.
A landmark moment in our club's short history that brought with it a chance to reflect on just how far we have come along with a renewed belief in what we are working to achieve. This came as a result of years of hard work, dedication, and total commitment to a common goal. A defining moment that will no doubt remain as one of the landmark achievements in the history books as we embark on a new chapter ahead.
Our attention now changes to the next 5 years with sustainability at the forefront of our thinking. It was´nt enough to just arrive at this moment but now build a structure that allows us to maintain and advance for the future. Where this crazy football journey will take us, only time will tell but we do know one thing that is for certain. We will remain resolute in our mission of installing principles and values in our young athletes that will help them navigate the challenges that life has to throw at them. Success, as it always has, will hopefully follow as a byproduct. This is our belief, this is our mission, this is FC Malaga City.
