Nicky Guyo Signs For Tercera Side CD Ciudad De Lucena

FCMC is delighted to announce that talented winger, Nicky Guyo, has signed for Tercera division side CD Ciudad De Lucena. The Zimbabwean forward who joined FC Malaga City in the Summer of 2018 joins an elite list of players who have now progressed through our Academy system and into the professional ranks here in Europe.

Guyo, who has trialled at a number of professional clubs in his 4 year spell at the club, finally saw his dream become a reality when the news broke off the back of our midweek friendly game against the Tercera side. His quick feet and electric pace proved enough to convince the coaching staff enough of CD Ciudad de Lucena that he was a player that would help improve the quality of their squad and in a very quick turn around, the deal was done.

FCMC Academy Director, George Jermy, commented on the move by saying "It's a fantastic opportunity for Nicky to move on to an ambitious club, and test himself in the Tercera division. Having seen him start out with our Academy and progress through our club structure to become a main figure in our Senior Teams provides me with a great deal of pride and I can't wait to see him push on from here".

Jermy went on to say "We've been lucky to have him as part of our family for a number of years now and we always knew he had the talent to make his way into the professional ranks in Spain, so I feel this opportunity comes at the right time in his career after a promotion last season and a strong first half of the 2021/22 campaign."

"From all of us here at the club we want to wish Nicky the best of luck with the move, and also say thank you to CD Ciudad de Lucena for working with us to get the deal done so quickly. We can't wait to see him competing for promotion in Tercera for the remainder of the season!"

Guyo joins former teammates Martin Mapisa (Zamora CF) and Abubakar Moffat (C.D. Estepona) who were all part of our partner foundation, Aces Youth Soccer Academy (AYSA) in Zimbabwe, in making the jump.

In what has been a strong start to 2022, this provides further evidence that we have a tremendous amount of talent within our club structure and we can't wait to see more players earn themselves opportunities at the professional level.
