Goalkeeper Dallas Odle believes CD Almuñecar City have to go into their final two games in Primera Andaluza (Granada) with a “must-win” mentality.
#CDAC narrowly lost away to Gabia CF last weekend, and currently sit three points outside of the top four with just two games remaining in the first stage of the league season.
Juan Carlos Añón’s side know the game against CD Cultural Asako Motríl on Sunday is a ‘six-pointer’, and American shot-stopper Odle said the team need to “lay it all on the line” between now and the end of the season.
“I know we can win,” Odle said.
“There are two league games left at this stage and, as a collective group, we need to go in with an absolute must-win mentality.
“We need to do that and lay it all on the line in these last two games.
“We’re all still really eager to get that top-four finish, to clinch that Play-Off spot.
“Training this week was great this week, another really hard week, really intense and everyone was holding each other to a really high standard.
“You can tell that we’re all really eager to just finish this part of the season out with two wins. The hopes are high going into the game and so is the level of play.”
Odle was previously with the San Jose Earthquakes Academy prior to coming out to Spain last summer and has enjoyed a successful first season so far with #CDAC.
The 19-year-old has played seven games with the senior team, also featuring for the Under-23 side too, and believes he has grown both as a player and person with the team.
“Personally, I feel that my season so far with CD Almuñécar City has been excellent. I’ve grown tremendously as a ‘keeper and as a person off the field too.
“There were a couple of aspects of my game that I wanted to fine tune here, and I feel like I have done so, so I’m really confident to say that I know that I’ve grown since being here.
“The experience of playing overseas has been awesome. It has been absolutely breath-taking. That’s been another plus.”
