Goalscorer Jones Delighted With 'Key' Victory

Defender Isaiah Jones praised the team's performance - following FC Malaga City Senior's victory over UD Algarrobo this afternoon.

The former Southampton and Forest Green Rovers man netted the third goal in today's 4-0 victory - after coming off the bench in the second half.

The Englishman revealed he was pleased to net his third goal of the season - and was pleased to secure some vital minutes on the field.

"Today was a good opportunity for me to get some proper minutes back out on the field," said Jones.

"Since returning to the club in late January, I have been working hard to raise my fitness levels.

"Of course, I am pleased to score my third of the season - and delighted that I could help the team secure a much-needed three points." Jones admitted that recent results have been "disappointing", and hopes that today's win will help the team switch the momentum.

"The win today was key to change the momentum of recent weeks," he continued.

"We have been dropping points that we shouldn’t had dropped in the past couple of games.

"The three points is a big boost for our morale as a group, and gives us positive vibes moving forward into next week.

"I thought we played well as a team today, and we stayed disciplined for the full 90 minutes - keeping a clean sheet.

"I don't think our goalkeeper had anything to do this afternoon, which says a lot about how we defended as a unit.

"We attacked well and were clinical with our finishing - so there is certainly lots to build and improve upon."
